Pipeline Technical Director
DreamWorks Animation
Projects: Trolls Band Together, Kung Fu Panda 4
- 
Create/update tools, scripts, and features in Python, PyQT for various softwares used in 3D animation production pipeline for lighting department (mainly Houdini, Nuke, Maya). 
- 
Identify inefficiencies in artist workflows and tooling to optimize compute time and reduce costs. 
- 
Translate/create various tools/gizmos to be compatible with USD (Universal Scene Description). 
- 
Assist artists with troubleshooting of shots. Issues include problems with lighting, surfacing, fur, clothing, rendering. 
- 
Manage show-wide software releases and synchronize major releases with other shows. 
- 
Lead weekly meetings with art and technical direction teams to review and delegate high priority tasks. 
- 
Support and work with multiple production departments, including animation, look development, FX, character FX. 
- 
Work closely with other technical directors, artists, department heads, visual effect supervisors, production management, R&D, and production engineering.

Teach and mentor students on how to create 3D animated short films by introducing all parts of the production 
 pipeline: pre-production, modeling, shading, rigging, animation, effects, lighting, rendering, post-production.

Lead lectures throughout the pipeline using Autodesk Maya, Pixar’s RenderMan, Substance Painter, Adobe Suite.
